Two men accused of making, using bombs in Surfside Beach

Two people have been arrested for allegedly making bombs in Surfside Beach.

Officials with the Surfside Beach Police Department say Ethan Johnson and Joseph Desantis were charged in connection to an incident that happened around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

No further details could be provided on exactly what happened, but officials did say molotov cocktails were involved.

Desantis, 24, has been charged with willfully and maliciously attempting to burn and intentionally causing an explosion resulting in damage to a building.

Johnson, 19, faces the same charges along with reckless driving and failure to stop for a blue light.

No bail has been set for either individual in regards to the bomb-making charge, according to the J Reuben Long Detention Center website.
