MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Both the Myrtle Beach and Columbia Mobile Vet Centers will attend the Employability Workshop and Job Fair, on January 16, as a part of the Grand Strand's 10th anniversary celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The event will be held at the Mary C. Canty Recreation Center, located at 971 Canal Street in Myrtle Beach, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
The Carolina African American Heritage Foundation is hosting the workshop, with the theme of Building Stronger Communities, to increase the success of local job-seekers and celebrate the values of equality. The workshops are designed to help all job seekers by providing information on job searching, resume and application techniques, dressing for success, interview skills, and guidance for retaining a job.
The City of Myrtle Beach, Walmart, SC Works, along with other local businesses, will be there to discuss their companies profile, employment opportunities, qualifications, and the hiring process.
Mobile Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and information resources for Veterans, along with services that help Veterans make the transition between military and civilian life.
