Over 3,400 lose power after accident breaks pole on Hwy. 905

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An accident on Highway 905 has caused an outage that affected over 3,400 Horry Electric Co-op customers near Longs Thursday morning, according to the company.

The accident and outage was reported on the Horry Electric Co-op Twitter account at 8:19 a.m. Thursday morning. The tweet states that a pole was broken, and crews were on the way.

The company’s outage map showed that a total of 3,458 customers around the Longs area in northeastern Horry County were without power at 8:36 a.m. By 8:45, that number dropped to 1,041.
