FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Florence Police say the suspect in Tuesday's North Brunson Street shooting has turned himself in.

Police say Desmond Singletary turned himself in at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Lieutenant Major Raines with the Florence Police Department confirmed the shooting took place at 1:15 p.m. last Tuesday. One man was shot, but his condition has not been released at this time.

"It's not the best, but there hasn't been anybody shooting around here in a long time," said Mary Montague, who lives in the area. "I thought we were going up from this. You know and getting away from this."

Florence Police and the Florence County Sheriff's Office searched the area for the suspect with dogs and a helicopter Tuesday afternoon, but were unable to find him.
