Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade moves to Ocean Boulevard

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade has moved to Ocean Boulevard for the 2016 event.

The life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be celebrated with the annual parade on Monday, January 18. The parade kicks off at 12:15 p.m.

This year’s parade route begins on Ocean Boulevard at 24th Avenue North, across from the old Myrtle Square Mall site. The parade will then travel south along Ocean Boulevard to Ninth Avenue North, disband near the Pavilion Parking Garage.

This year’s parade has some unique and exciting entries, including the U.S. Army and Navy Marching Bands, the National Guard Color Guard and several local and regional high school bands. Everyone’s invited to Ocean Boulevard for the annual MLK Day parade on Monday, January 18!
