Quick shot of bitter cold

. -

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF)  Bitter cold weather will blow into the Carolinas tonight through Tuesday night before milder weather returns to finish the week.

A strong north wind will continue to usher in much colder weather through tonight. By Tuesday morning, temperatures will drop all the way into the middle and upper 20s.  North winds of 15 to 20 mph will last through Tuesday morning sending wind chills as
low as 15 to 20 degrees.

Tuesday will be sunny, but windy and cold. Temperatures will struggle out of the 30s to around 40 for afternoon high temperatures. A gusty breeze will keep wind chills in the 20s and 30s most of the day.

Tuesday night will be very cold once again with temperatures dropping into the upper 20s to near 30 under clear skies.

The temperatures begin to warm up considerable by the end of the week as daytime temperatures rebound back into the 60s. However, the warmer weather will also come with several rain chances and mostly cloudy skies. The best risk of rain arrives on Friday
and then again on Sunday.
