HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A new shopping center near Highway 544 and Highway 17 Bypass in the Surfside Beach area will bring a Panera Bread, a MOD Pizza restaurant, and an EyeMart express this year.
The 10,000-square-foot center will be located adjacent to the South Strand Commons Shopping Center and managed by the Burroughs and Chapin Company, according to news release from the company.
"The Myrtle Beach market is growing steadily, and we continue to focus on bringing in new and innovative businesses," said Patrick Walsh, senior vice president of asset management and commercial leasing with Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. "We're thrilled to partner with successful brands like Panera Bread, MOD Pizza, and EyeMart Express, which have set the standard for quality and value in the fast casual restaurant and optical industries."
Burroughs and Chapin announced on Monday that they broke ground on the shopping center, and the new tenants are expected to open in the fall of 2016.
The Panera Bread will be the second location to open up in the Grand Strand, after a Carolina Forest location was announced in early December.
EyeMart has over 154 location in 35 states, and is raked number seven among the nation's largest optical retailers, according to the B&C news release.
The Seattle-based MOD Pizza will be opening one of three new Grand Strand locations at the Surfside Beach shopping center.
