WILLIAMSBURG, SC (WMBF) – A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at the Huddle House in Kingstree on New Year's Day has been arrested and charged, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office.
Darnell Jamar Epps, 21, was arrested on January 4 after Kingstree Police responded to a report of a suspicious person behind a residence on Singleton Avenue, according to a news release from WCSO. Officers detained the suspect and discovered he was Epps, wanted for the shooting.
Investigators said an altercation happened inside the Huddle House early in the morning on New Year's Day that led to the parking lot, resulting in gun shots being fired.
The suspect fled the scene on foot armed with a weapon. Reports say no one was shot during this incident.
Epps was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, weapon/sale or delivery to, and possession by, certain unlawful, stolen pistol, assault and battery third degree, and malicious injury to animals, personal property, injury value $2,000 or less.
