Police: Surveillance cameras catch suspects stealing money from car wash

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - On December 29, Horry County Police responded to a call in reference to a vandalism and larceny complaint at Detrick’s Premier Car Wash located at 2261 Dick Pond Road in Myrtle Beach.

According to police, the caller stated 2, or possibly 3, unknown male suspects broke into two pay stations and stole money inside of them. The value taken from both pay stations totaled approximately $1300. The incident was caught on camera.

Officers processed the scene for finger prints, but were unsuccessful. Photographs were secured and a copy of the surveillance video was requested, according to police.

The caller estimated the damage to the pay stations to range from $6,000 to $8,000 to repair.
