Daughter of Robeson County sheriff’s detective in fatal car accident

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – Kelsie Wilson, 16 year-old daughter of Robeson County sheriff’s office detective Thomas Wilson, was in a fatal car accident on the morning of December 29.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m., but was not reported until a few hours later, according to Sgt. Hinson with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to Sgt. Hinson, Wilson, a Lumberton High School Cheerleader, was traveling North on Howell Road, just North of Lumberton, when she ran off the right side of the road, striking a utility pole. The vehicle overturned and struck a tree. 

The State Highway Patrol was on the scene.
