WMBF FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Morning fog, afternoon rain and more record heat

WMBF FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Morning fog, afternoon rain and more record heat

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Another morning with a thick fog over the area. A few extra minutes will prove to be very beneficial this morning. Mild temperatures are accompanying us as well. This will continue this after as temperatures reach into the mid 70s. Showers will begin to move in around lunch time and become widespread through the early afternoon into this evening. Another push of moisture overnight with lows falling into the mid 60s.

Tuesday looks drier for now with only an isolated shower and some sunshine with more record breaking heat likely. Highs in the mid to upper 70s. The rain returns for Wednesday and Thursday as we watch a front trek through the area. Highs will stay in the 70s both days.

The rainy week ahead is associated with a  front that will eventually push through Thursday night and leave us with clearing skies through the weekend with highs finally returning into the 50s and overnight lows into the 30s. A few more nasty days to get through before we return to more seasonable weather.
