HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Murrells Inlet woman is facing serious charges. A wreck she was involved in killed another woman and sent two others to area hospitals.
Susan Nevitt has been charged with felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury, child endangerment: committing certain drug/alcohol related vehicle offense with a minor in the vehicle, and open container of beer or wine in the motor vehicle.
The crash happened at 1:15 a.m. Saturday on US-501 near Pee Dee Road in Horry County. South Carolina Highway Patrol officials say the Dodge Durango Nevitt was driving crossed the center line hitting a Toyota SUV head-on. Jessie Jameson of Effingham, SC, was in the front passenger seat of the Toyota and was killed in the crash.She was taken to a hospital in Marion where she died around 2:00 a.m. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said she was not wearing a seat belt. Jameson was in her 70s.
SCHP reported that Nevitt, a 10-year old child in the Durango, and the driver of the Toyota were all taken to Grand Strand Hospital.
Nevitt was booked into the J Reuben Long Detention Center just before 7:30 a.m.
