Sheriff’s Office seeks help in utility trailer theft

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) – According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, 41 year-old John William Earl Wilson of 429 Springfield Road in Pawley’s Island, was arrested and charged with one count of grand larceny.

On December 16, a utility trailer was taken from the Dieter Company, located at 13253 Ocean Highway in Litchfield Community of Georgetown County. According to police a dark colored truck entered the property, backed up to the trailer and exited the property with the trailer in tow.

According to police, the utility trailer, containing approximately $1,000 worth of cleaning supplies, is described as a 5 foot by 7 foot, white in color, self-contained trailer. The trailer has a Fulton logo written in cursive font across the rear door.

Although Wilson was arrested and charged, police have not been able to locate the utility trailer.

Police are asking anyone who has any information regarding the stolen trailer to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5101.

    One person has died after an accident on U.S. 17 South early Saturday morning. According to Jed Jones with South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pick-up truck was traveling on U.S. 17, when it ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned around 1:55 Saturday morning. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
