MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A suspicious call led Myrtle Beach Police to investigate the area of Balsam Street Friday night at 9 p.m. Officers then discovered a 9 mm shell casing near the playground, according to police reports.

Upon arriving, the person involved told police he was sitting on a swing set and facing the road. While sitting on the swing he heard a loud popping sound that repeated and he fell to the ground. The man told police he thought it was fireworks; afterwards he said two juveniles ran over to the bridge in the park towards Cedar St. and one was wearing a hoodie.

Officers were able to locate a 9 mm shell casing next to the playground equipment, however did not find any weapons, reports say.

Brandon Lambert, 27, was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
