DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that took place Saturday morning involving a car vs. pedestrian on I-95.
According to SCHP, the collision took place on I-95 South at mile marker 182. A 2002 Pontiac Van was carrying eight passengers and traveling South on the left lane of I-95, then struck and killed a pedestrian who was in the roadway. Heavy traffic was reported in the area causing major back-ups.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as 65-year-old Ralph Callahan from Lumberton NC. Callahan died as a result from being struck by the vehicle.
