HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Conway National Bank in Little River was robbed by two suspects Monday afternoon, according to an official with the Horry County Police Department.
The bank at Highway 9 and Highway 57 South was robbed some time before 3:50 p.m. Monday, according to police reports. One suspect entered the bank through the rear door and fired two rounds from a semi-automatic handgun, shattering the window of an office door, before shouting for everyone to get down on the floor. The suspect, described as a black male, then jumped over the teller counter, demanded the tellers open their drawers, and removed cash from them before jumping back over the counter and fleeing out of the same rear door.
Surveillance video revealed another suspect, described as a white male wearing all black clothing, holding the rear door open, the report states. This suspect also picked up cash that the first suspect had dropped.
The suspects' vehicle is possibly a dark blue or black four-door newer-model Nissan Maxima, possible with paper tags, HCPD stated in a news release. Police also say the rear window of the vehicle appeared to be broken out.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
