MBPD, SLED investigate meth lab at Diplomat Motel, five charged

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department were on the scene of an active meth lab investigation at an Ocean Boulevard motel Sunday night. According to reports, police have arrested five people on drug charges.

People in the area reported seeing a heavy police presence at the Diplomat Motel around 10 p.m. Sunday night.

Lt. Joey Crosby with MBPD said SLED was contacted and a hazmat team was brought to investigate.

Authorities on scene told WMBF five people are in custody and the lab was reported to them by an anonymous source.

According to Myrtle Beach Police reports, the following people have been arrested on drug charges:

  • Michael Ira Thomas, 45-years-old. Bond is set at 50k cash or surety and $620 for simple pot possession.
  • Barry Ryan Holland, 31-years-old. Bond is set at 60k cash or surety bond and $620 for simple pot possession.
  • Brittney Nicole Mcnemar, 18-years-old. Bond is set at 20k cash or surety. Pr for simple pot possession.
  • James Kenneth Goodenow , 44-years-old. Bond is set at 50k pr bond.
  • Destiney Nora Bergmann, 34-years-old. Bond is set at 20k pr bond.
