Josh Norman gets in on the holiday spirit

Josh Norman gives back to his hometown

GREENWOOD, S.C. (WMBF) - In the middle of the best year of his career, former Coastal Carolina and current Carolina Panther cornerback Josh Norman is remembering to give back while not forgetting his roots.

This weekend, Norman was back in his hometown of Greenwood, South Carolina to kick off the holiday season. He invited 24 families to his inaugural "Holiday Give Day". He took pictures, signed autographs, and gave toys to more than 150 underprivileged kids. The giving feels good for Norman, though he just wants to make sure he never forgets where he came from.

"I went through college (at CCU) and the NFL, and never forgot where home is," Norman said. "And knowing the struggles of what people don't have. We try to do the best we can to provide that through outreach community. I'm in this position (so) I just wanted to give a little bit to someone else."

Norman has 42 tackles, two forced fumbles, four interceptions and two defensive touchdowns this season. He and the 12-0 Panthers are back at home Sunday afternoon to host the Falcons with a 1:00 kickoff. WIth a win, Carolina gets a first round bye in the postseason.
