MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man told police that he was beaten in the head with a gun and forced into the trunk of his own car at gunpoint while in the parking lot of Club Faces earlier this month, then driven to a pond, where the suspects left him and his vehicle.
On December 2, an Horry County Police officer made contact with the 40-year-old victim at the hospital. The victim told police that while he was waiting for a woman in the parking lot of Club Faces, a man got into his vehicle and pointed a handgun in his face. He said he was then pushed out of the vehicle and beaten in head with handgun, and beaten in the hands and feet by the suspect, along with four other men.
According to the police report, the men then stole the victim's wallet and keys, and he was forced into the trunk. He was then let out of the vehicle around 10th Avenue North and Hemingway Street, and forced at gunpoint to wade into a pond in the area. The suspects left the vehicle in the pond, as well.
After the suspect left, the victim crawled out of the pond and walked to the Myrtle Beach Police Department for assistance.
Horry County Fire Rescue Dive Team members and HCPD Detectives will be at the pond Friday in an attempt to locate the vehicle, according to Lt. Raul Denis.
