ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The Robeson County Sheriff's Office Homicide Division is investigating the shooting death of 41-year-old Tryon Derrick Jacobs of Pembroke, NC that occurred on Monday December 7, according to Major Anthony Thompson.
Law enforcement was called to a residence in the 4000 block of Union Chapel Road, Pembroke, NC at 9:44 am. Upon arrival, Jacobs was found lying in the yard with a gunshot to the chest. Jacobs was taken by EMS to Southeastern Health Center where he died, Thompson said.
The investigation revealed Jacobs went to this residence and was "raising hell," according to one resident who is Jacob's brother-in-law. He said Jacobs made a comment about a knife and started reaching in his pocket, and that's when he shot Jacobs.
The day before, the brother-in-law said Jacobs came to his house and was "playing hell "about pills, and stuck a knife to the brother-in-law's wife's head, demanding pills.
Thompson said the investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested. An autopsy is being performed.
