FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Three suspects were arrested as a result of the 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network traffic safety checkpoint conducted on Friday, November 13. at Ariel's Crossroads, located at Highway 41 at Highway 501 in Marion County.
According to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff's Office, 171 vehicles were encountered during the operation and the checkpoint brought about the following charges:
- Child Restraint Violation 1
- Open Container Violation 4
- Driver’s License Violation 1
- Driving Under Suspension 1
- Vehicle License Violation 3
- Possession of Alcohol by Minor 1
- Possession of Marijuana 5
- Other Violations 3
The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network is comprised of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, including state agencies and State Constables. In this operation, 59 law enforcement officers participated.
The traffic safety checkpoints are geared to preventing individuals from driving under the influence. For the fourth year in a row, the FCSO is the host agency for LEN operations, which is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
