Multiple break-ins in Murrells Inlet neighborhood

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - Neighbors say that three of the homes broken into were on the same street. Helen Ballew, a resident of Salter’s Cove says her door was kicked in and her TV was stolen during daylight hours. Other residents in the area say more TV’s and other items were stolen from another home.

Horry County Police have been unable to comment at this time. Many of the homes are vacant part of the year, and neighbors think that may be why their neighborhood was targeted. Monica Hatch, a full time resident in Salter’s Cove, says this is a tight knit community, and the people who live here really look out for each other. She also says she is thankful nobody was hurt. “Most of us are unnerved about that, because whoever did break in, they were looking for quick items of value that were light, and they were fast. But what would have happened if they would have broken in and we were there.”
