FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – An investigator with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office was arrested on Wednesday, December 2, after investigators say he allegedly assaulted and made verbal threats to a female victim.
According to a press release from the Florence County Sheriff's Office, 50-year-old John Willie Brown is charged with third degree domestic violence and second degree assault and battery.
Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding an alleged domestic problem at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Highway 327 in Florence County.
Based on witness statements at the scene, officers arrested Brown. Brown is also alleged to have shoved a witness to the ground who was trying to intervene on the female victim's behalf.
A Florence County Magistrate set a surety bond on the domestic violence charge in the amount of $2500 and a surety bond on the assault and battery charge at $2000 on Thursday.
