Brookgreen Gardens comes to life during Nights of a Thousand Candles

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) – Brookgreen Gardens annual Nights of a Thousand Candles will be held December 3-5, 10-12 and 17-19 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m, according to the Brookgreen Gardens website.

With the myriad lights, more than 5,500 hand-lit candles, and carolers singing, Nights of a Thousand Candles is always a great way to celebrate the holiday season.

Each night at 5:45 p.m. the 80-foot-tall fir tree, which boasts 60,000 lights, will be lighted.

An outdoor glass sculpture exhibit will be featured in Anne’s Garden this year along with a glowing Tree of Glass and a Crepe Myrtle will be adorned with white ornaments.

Tickets are $14 for members and $18 for the general public. Children’s tickets ages 4-12 are $8 for members and $10 for the general public. If you have a group of 15 or more, please call (843)-235-6021 for pricing.

Brookgreen Gardens reminds guests no alcoholic beverages are allowed and no smoking is preferred. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes and to carpool if possible. For other suggestions, click here.

    Temperatures will once again climb quickly today, but not quite as warm as Wednesday. Afternoon readings will reach the upper 70s to near 80.  Southerly winds will shift to the west and become strong and gusty during the day. Wind gusts of 30 mph will likely at times through the afternoon and evening.
