Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre to present 10th annual production of The Nutcracker
Senior company members Alexis Bull and Magdalyn Darden are featured as Sugar Plum Fairy and Dew Drop Fairy.

Brianna Rogers (left), Elizabeth Ann Bellamy (center), Annamaria Bleyer (right) will alternate in the lead role as the young Clara in this year’s holiday production.

Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre’s (CYBT), the area’s resident ballet company, is delighted to announce the staging of their 10th annual holiday production of The Nutcracker on December 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2015 at the Wheelwright Auditorium, Coastal Carolina University in Conway.
The Nutcracker has become an annual holiday tradition in many American cities and even around the world. It may well be the most famous of all ballet productions that is performed in the United States. It is so popular that holidays are not complete without seeing The Nutcracker live. Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre’s production features spectacular scenery and sets, fabulous and colorful costumes, making this age-old tradition sparkle like new. It features a cast of eighty of the area’s most talented young dancers along with the support of guest community members who will bring the charming Nutcracker Christmas story to life.
Part of the local Nutcracker tradition and a favorite among the audience is Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre’s featuring a set of local celebrities who are considered to be among the area’s most, adored, influential, caring, respected and / or generous community leader to go and join the Nutcracker cast in the role of the lovable “Mother Ginger.” From local TV personalities Ed Piotrowski, Bob Juback, Frank Johnson, Cecil Chandler, photographer Gene Ho, a Mrs. America, the Principal of Lakewood Elementary School, a state Senator, a Myrtle Beach City Council member, the captain of St. James High School Football team - they are among those who have gamely joined the dancers of Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre on stage as part of the cast of The Nutcracker in the role of Mother Ginger.
The CYBT Nutcracker performances are scheduled from December 12,13, 19 and 20, 2015 at the Wheelwright Auditorium, Coastal Carolina University in Conway. The performance dates are as follows:

Sunday, December 13, 2015 – Public Performance at 2 PM
Saturday, December 19, 2015 – Public Performance at 7 PM

Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that was founded by Liza Mata in 2006 as the performing company of Coastal Dance Center. The mission of the organization is to promote arts appreciation and cultural enhancement in the community, providing access to high caliber ballet training and performance opportunities through professionally-staged productions and educational initiatives.
