Man claiming to be in Irish Mob threatens to kill MB Police officer

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded to N Kings Hwy Sunday in reference to a disorderly male who was intoxicated and asked to leave the business. The man told police he was in an Irish Mob and threatened to kill the officer along with his mother.

Upon arriving, the officer spoke to the offender who was lounging against the front of the business and appeared heavily intoxicated and slurring his speech.

When the officer was placing handcuffs on the offender he began pulling his arm away. Once the cuffs were on, the offender was then walked over to the police car and began to pull away from officers during a search, he then turned his face towards the officers which created a danger for a spitting situation. The suspect also refused to sit down in the police car, according to reports.

During the transport the offender said, "If I want you dead, you will be dead." He also said he was going to kill the officer's mother and the reporting officer.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Bobby Jo Buffkin Jr, said he was in the Irish Mob and, "It wouldn't take long, probably two months."

Buffkin was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, threatening life and loitering.
