City of Loris holding general election Tuesday

LORIS, SC (WMBF) - Loris City Council will hold a general election Tuesday, December 1st, according to The current seat for the mayor position is available, along with three council seats.

Marion County Schools teacher Kimberly Rudelitch, and 5 others are running for Loris City Council. Currently there are 3 council seats with 6 people running. Below is a list of those running for Loris City Council.

  • Jerry Hardee (Current Fire Chief)
  • Michael Dozier (HCFR Captain)
  • Jan Vescovi (HCS Teacher)
  • Joan Gause
  • Thessolonia Graham

There are three people running for the mayor position, the current position is held by Mayor David E. Stoudenmire, Jr., he has been mayor for 24 years and made the decision to step down in September, according to Rudelitch.
