MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach Police officer was patrolling the area of Oak and Maple Street Saturday night and heard a gunshot in the area of 600 block of Maple Street, two more gunshots were heard shortly after. Police reports say the officer observed the third shot fired.

The officer was unable to locate any evidence of a shooting, the vehicles parked outside the apartment were undamaged and the area was quiet. Minutes later the officer heard a second gunshot South of 6th Ave. N of Maple Street.

A white or silver Ford Taurus traveling north on Maple Street was spotted and the officer observed a third shot fired from the rear driver side window.
Police said, a muzzle flash indicated the handgun was pointed upward when the gun was fired.

The suspect vehicle stopped at a stop sign with all the lights turned off, then suddenly turned east toward N. Oak Street, the vehicle then started to gain speeds of 50 mph and ignored the stop signs at N. Oak Street and N Kings Hwy. The vehicle continued to drive recklessly on Chester Street.

When the vehicle was turning right onto 6th Ave., the officer observed a dark skinned male wearing a blue and white plaid shirt in the driver seat.

Multiple officers responded once the vehicle was described, but unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Officers were not able to locate any shell casings or damages caused by the suspect.
