Clemson tops South Carolina to win Palmetto Bowl

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) - Deshaun Watson had 279 yards through the air and ran for 114 on the ground, racking up four total touchdowns to help take Clemson to a 37-32 Palmetto Bowl win in Columbia on Saturday. The win means Clemson finishes the regular season 12-0, while South Carolina finishes its season with a 3-9 mark.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Tigers broke through on the scoreboard thanks to a Watson five yard touchdown run. The Tigers ended up going into halftime with a 14-3 advantage. The lead never slipped away from Clemson.

Lake City native Shon Carson had 52 rush yards and a touchdown, along with a touchdown reception in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter.

Clemson will move on to face North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte on December 5th, and looks to keep its hold as the top-ranked team in the nation when the College Football Playoff Rankings are released on Tuesday night.
