15 people arrested for prostitution in Horry County Thursday

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Fifteen people were arrested on Thursday for prostitution charges, according to jail records.

On November 19, the Horry County Police Department conducted a prostitution sting using various methods, according to Lt. Raul Denis. Fourteen arrests were made by HCPD in the Myrtle Beach area by arrestees seeking prostitution services through the internet, Lt. Denis said. In general, people solicit prostitution by phone, internet, or in person. Once the service is solicited, arrangements are made to meet, then the officer can arrest the person, Lt. Denis explained.

Fourteen men were arrested by Horry County Police and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday. One woman was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police for prostitution.

Daniel Dawson, the husband of New Hanover County, North Carolina Commissioner Beth Dawson, was among those arrested.
