Detailed breakdown of funding for Savannah's Playground

Phase 1 for Savannah’s Playground is slated to cost $1.4 million. According to the non-profit’s website, the non-profit has invested $770,000 so far. That leaves at least $630,000 that still needs to be raised. Construction will continue even without the full amount, on the promise that the money will all eventually come in.

Here is a breakdown of all the money that has been raised so far:

$100,000 from the Horry County budget (from Council District Recreation Funds)

Schwartzkopf - $50,000 – May 2015

Foxworth - $10,00 – May 2015

Lazarus - $20,000 – May 2015

$10,000 earmarked for the fiscal year 2017

$10,000 earmarked for the fiscal year 2018

$300,000 from the state (Department of Disabilities and Special Needs) budget

$100,000 from 2015-2016 budget (fiscal year 2016)

$200,000 from 2014-2015 budget (fiscal year 2015)

$300,000 from the Myrtle Beach Air Base Redevelopment Authority (ABRA) budget

$50,000 corporate donation from Walmart

$10,000 donated from the Carolina Country Music Fest

$10,000 came from other unnamed donors

    Strong storms moving through the Grand Strand and Pee Dee are causing a number of power outages, along with issues on the roads. As of 1:30 a.m. Thursday, 3,273 Duke Energy Progress customers are without power in both North and South Carolina. In our viewing area, Marion County is experiencing the greatest number of outages with 1,094 people without power.

    The person of interest in the double-murder and bank robbery in Conway on Monday is in custody. Brandon MIchael Council was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday, along with two other people, authorities there confirmed.  Brandon Michael Council was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of two CresCom bank employees during a bank robbery at the CresCom Bank in Conway on Monday afternoon.
