38 Horry Electric Cooperative members without power in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – More than 6300 Horry Electric Cooperative members were without power Tuesday afternoon due to an outage. Currently, 38 of those members are still without power, according to the Horry Electric Cooperative website.

Horry Electric Cooperative’s website states the exact cause and estimated restoration time are unavailable at this time.

HEC states they lost transmission from Santee Cooper.

Crews are working to determine the cause and HEC crews are also on standby for transmission to be restored to the Aynor and Four Mile Substations. HEC Twitter states the transmission into the Dunn Shortcut substation has been restored.

    The fifth and final suspect wanted in connection with the Christmas Eve murder of a Lake City man was taken into custody in Columbus, Ohio on January 12. Justin Marquise Pringle, 21, was charged with four other men in the murder of 74-year-old Johnny Cameron on December 24, 2017 at the victim’s home on Old Georgetown Road in Lake City, according to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
