The debate is picking up over tipping in restaurants with Joe’s Crab Shack announcing it is testing a no tipping policy at some of its restaurants.
People complain that they will have to pay more for their food. Yes, you will. But, you will also know the price up front. Just like anything else you buy.
I see a lot of benefits in ending tipping. Why should customers be responsible for how much an employee makes? Tipping is supposed to reward good service. But shouldn’t good service be the standard? Staff performance and pay should be up to the business owner.
Consider This: it is hard to change a system that has been in place for decades. But moving away from it seems to make sense for everyone in that industry. I look forward to seeing the results of this new system and being a part of making it successful.
