Several Georgetown roads closed Saturday for Bridge2Bridge Run

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - The 5th Annual Bridge2Bridge Half-Marathon, 12K and 5K will take place this Saturday in Georgetown, and many streets in the area will be closed as a result.

STREET CLOSINGS

NOTICE TO ALL MERCHANTS & HOMEOWNERS

The fifth annual Bridge2Bridge Half-Marathon, 12K and 5K will take place on Saturday, November 14th. To facilitate this event, the City will close the following streets:

Front Street – Front Street will be closed from Fraser Street to Greenwich Drive from 
4:00 am to 8:30 am. Front Street from Fraser Street to Queen Street will remain closed until 12:00 pm. Front Street from Queen Street to Greenwich should reopen by 8:30 am.

East Bay, Greenwich Drive, Highmarket Street, and Duke Street- Portions of these roadways will be closed from 6:00 am to 8:30 am.

St. James Street-St. James will be closed from Church Street to Front Street from 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

Hwy 17- Hwy 17 northbound will be closed from Cannon Street to just south of Hobcaw-Barony. Hwy 17 southbound will handle north and southbound traffic from Cannon Street to just south of Hobcaw-Barony. These conditions will be in effect from 4:00 am to 11:00 am.

Prince Street- Prince Street will be closed from Fraser Street to St. James from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Cleland Street- Cleland Street will be closed from Prince Street to Front Street from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Hwy 17 (Fraser Street) - Hwy 17 southbound will handle north and southbound traffic from Prince Street to Martin Street. Hwy 17 northbound will be closed from Martin Street to Prince Street. These conditions will be in effect form 4:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Cravens Grant – Cravens Grant subdivision will be closed to vehicular traffic from (6:00 am to 12:00 pm).
This closure will also involve Harrelson Street from Hwy. 17 to Oak Street.

West End Residents – Access to Fraser Street will be limited to Front and Butts Streets from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Bayview Residents – Due to closure of Hwy. 17 northbound (Sampit Bridge), Bayview residents will need use Oak Street to Martin Street for access to Hwy. 17 north and southbound. Harrelson Street from Oak to Hwy. 17 will be closed.

Travel in an around the City will be restricted, but traffic will be allowed to flow within the Historic District on Broad and Highmarket Streets. Road closures will be manned by a combination of police officers and volunteers, so we are asking the public to be patient and watch for traffic control personnel to help them navigate through the City.
