Florence Co. 911 Central Dispatch wins two awards at 2015 S.C. APCO/NENA Conference

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Florence County 911 Central Dispatch took home two awards from the 2015 S.C. Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO) / National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Conference.

William “Billy’ Sweatt, Florence County 911 Central Dispatch Manager, was named S.C. Director of the Year and Joyce “Regina” Niedenthal was awarded S.C. Telecommunicator of the Year. 

Sweatt began his career as a dispatcher in August 1989 at the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout the years he was promoted to Shift Supervisor, Training Coordinator, and Communications Manager. In 2014, Sweatt became the Central Dispatch Manager. 

Niedenthal has served with Florence County as a Telecommunicator since May 2014. Prior to her tenure with Florence County, she was a telecommunicator in Marion County for five years.
