28-year-old Marion County man killed in car accident in Darlington

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A 28-year-old Marion County man died Monday, November 9, 2015 around 12:35 p.m. in an automobile collision on Rogers Road in Darlington.

Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee said Joe Nathaniel McRae, II, was pronounced dead at the scene between Highway 340 and Highway 401.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1999 Ford truck was travelling east on Rogers Road and a 2009 Lincoln travelling west when the 2009 Lincoln attempted to make a left onto High Hill Road. The Lincoln turned in front of the truck, failing to yield the right of way. The driver, McRae, was killed as a result of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
