Williamsburg County to open shelters on November 8 in anticipation of rain event

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Williamsburg County Emergency Management will open shelters, at 5:00 p.m., on November 8, in anticipation of the upcoming rain event.

The two shelters scheduled to open are Williamsburg County Recovery Center, located at 2084 Thurgood Marshall Highway in Kingstree and Chavis One-Stop Complex, located at 2118 South State Highway 41/51 in Hemingway.

Citizens are advised to bring their own bedding, personal hygiene items, and any needed medications. Any citizen requiring assistance in evacuating their home is asked to call (843) 354-0790.
