Hartsville man faces attempted murder, weapons charges

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – A Hartsville man was arrested Sunday morning following a domestic dispute in Hartsville where a victim suffered a grazing gunshot wound to the head, according to Russell Cox, Hartsville City Spokesperson.

Michael A. Squire, age 49, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Darlington County Detention Center website.

Cox said the incident took place on the 600 block of Rice Street in Hartsville just after midnight Sunday morning.

The victim received medical treatment, but the injury was not life threatening.

A $75,000 cash or surety bond has been set for Squire’s attempted murder charge, according to the DCDC website.
