HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Police Officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Commonwealth Circle Thursday, October 29 in the Conway area of Horry County.

According to police two male victims, ages 21 and 16, told police that several males came to their apartment making threats and carrying several weapons. The suspect also tried to take one of the victims out of the apartment.

Reports say the victims ran into the back of the bedroom and called police. One of the victims said the suspects continued making threats then walked down the steps out to the parking lot.

The victims came out of the residence after they thought the suspects left then confronted the suspects.

One of the victims said he purchased a firearm from a pawn shop and did not have it present when the suspects were making threats. The victim also said the suspects started shooting and he proceeded to shoot back. The victim said as he was trying to defend himself, his gun locked up and he started running away towards his mother's house.

The other victim said that the suspects think he had been "snitching" on them for selling drugs at the apartment complex and said the suspects were making threats for days.

The suspects entered into a 2001 Nissan Xterra after the shooting. Detectives are still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the tip line at 843-915-8477
