MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Police Department was searching for the man who threatened to use a destructive device at Damon’s Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, according to the MBPD Facebook page.

Christopher Steven ‘Stevie’ Butler, age 36, was suspected of calling the restaurant on September 18 and stating “I’m about to blow the place up!” The caller said the restaurant could thank his ex-girlfriend, who works there, for it, according to MBPD police reports.

When officers arrived at the restaurant, the manager advised them the call came through around 3:05 p.m.

The employee did not know who the caller was but immediately remembered an incident that occurred on August 13 when Butler harassed his ex-girlfriend at the restaurant and fired a weapon near the property.

According to the police report, Butler was charged for that incident and a restraining order was issued by the ex-girlfriend as a result of the incident.

Butler has a lengthy criminal background for violent tendencies, the police report states.
