HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A motorcycle driver was killed around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday night in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17 Business at Atlantic Avenue in Garden City.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says 31-year-old Robin Baker of Garden City died on the scene from multi-trauma. Baker was not wearing a helmet.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins says a 2011 Ford Flex was making a left turn onto Atlantic Avenue, turned in front of Baker’s Harley Davidson motorcycle and the two collided.

After the impact, a 2007 Hyundai Elantra struck the motorcycle in the roadway.

Cpl. Collins says the driver of the 2007 Hyundai Elantra was transported to Waccamaw Hospital to be checked out. The 19-year-old driver of the 2011 Ford Flex was not transported to the hospital.

No charges have been filed as the case is still under investigation by the SCHP.
