MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police Officers responded to 401 7th Ave N in reference to a stolen I-pad which then led to a drug bust.
Officers spoke to the victim involved who said he recently had an I-pad stolen from his home and that he pinged the I-pad to room 214 of the hotel.
When officers responded to room 214 and there door was open, they could also smell a strong odor or marijuana coming from inside and see a marijuana bowl on the night stand.
One suspect said he was the registered owner of the room and refused a consent to search the room, officers then detained the occupants of the room and obtained a search warrant.
During the search, officers located marijuana on the floor and found prescription pill bottles that contained hydrocodone that weren't prescribed to the victims.
All five of the offenders who were in the room denied ownership of the hydrocodone and none had valid prescriptions for the pills. They were also charged with simple possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a schedule 2 drugs.
