Husband arrested for biting wife's face in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to a domestic violence call Sunday morning in reference to a woman who was bit in the face by her husband.

Upon arriving to Yaupon Drive, officers spoke with the suspect who said him and his wife got into an argument that was mostly verbal. He continued to tell police the fight started verbally and then pushed his wife onto the bed; he then said she bit his finger.

Officers spoke to the victim who also said it started verbally, then the husband bit her on the top of her right hand, however no teeth marks were showing; she did admit to biting her husband on his hand and said the fight wasn't a big deal.

The wife then told police the husband pushed her during the fight and "that's all the happened." Police then noticed a laceration under her left eye and asked where it came from; she said it happened at work. The police officer then noticed blood around her nose and asked her to admit what really happened, she then admitted the husband bit her face.

Richard Deems Clifton was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
