NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The City of North Myrtle Beach will sponsor its annual "Citywide Cleanup Day", November 7 from 9 a.m. thru noon at the NMB Sanitation Transfer Station, according to city spokesman Pat Dowling.

Need to clean out the closet, attic, garage, storage shed? This is your chance- get rid of unwanted items like appliances, TV's, furniture, paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, old tires, and more, all at once. To note: no construction debris or medical waste will be accepted.

On the cleanup day, the city says it provides a special collection service for furniture, appliances and other bulky items. Those should be at curbside for pickup. Call the Sanitation Division before placing those items curbside, at 843-280-5500.

All other items much be taken to the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Transfer Station on 2nd Avenue South.

Residents are asked to consider donating unwanted usable furniture and appliances to the Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries or local churches. Many of these organizations will pick up items.

To volunteer your time on Cleanup Day, or for more information, call Gregg Barnhill at 843-280-5673.
