Georgetown County extends hours at landfill, 3 recycling centers

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Georgetown County has decided to extend hours at the landfill and three Recycling Convenience Centers due to the recent flooding.

A news release from Georgetown County states that the Andrews, Dunbar and Browns Ferry Convenience Centers extended hours will be 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and run from Sunday, October 18 through Sunday, October 25.

Georgetown County requests that residents take multiple loads or volumes greater than pick-up truck loads and/or 8-foot by 5-foot by 3-foot trailer loads to the landfill location.

The landfill’s hours will be extended starting Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23, from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The landfill is located at 201 Landfill Drive, which is about three miles northwest of the Highway 701 and Highway 51 intersection.
