MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The City of Myrtle Beach along with the Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue wants everyone to have a safe Halloween on Saturday, October 31, according to the City of Myrtle Beach Facebook page.

They are asking the public to remember the following safety tips when it comes to trick-or-treating:

  • A responsible adult should accompany children.
  • Only visit homes where porch lights are turned on.
  • Be sure to cross streets at intersections and crosswalks.
  • Wear reflective material on costumes.
  • Use makeup not masks to improve vision.
  • Make costume lengths short enough to avoid trip hazards.
  • Carry a flashlight to see and be seen by others.
  • Inspect children’s candy before they eat it.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings.
