Starting off cold but warming up nicely through the week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) We're in the heart of the coldest air of the season right now! Highs today will be in the low 60s! Some of us may struggle to get out of the upper 50s this afternoon. That's because we have high pressure overhead and it is funneling in air form the north and east. That will continue through the beginning of the week but not before some of us wake up to some frost Monday morning. The combination of a light wind, cool air and clear skies is prime for some frost to develop on elevated surfaces.

By Tuesday we warm up slightly to around 70 as we watch the high pressure move offshore and turn our winds from the north to the east. That will bring in some more clouds and also bring in warmer air. It will really just bring us back to around average for this time of year.

We keep rain chance low all the way through the weekend but at that point we turn our attention to another cold front approaching the area. It's not looking to bring as cold of air as what we are seeing now but it will cool us off once again.
