Laurinburg man arrested in connection to September murder in St. Pauls

ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – A Laurinburg man was arrested in Columbus County, NC on March 15 in reference to the murder of Rodney Kirk Murphy that took place in St. Pauls, according to records. 

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said the murder occurred on September 28, at 3354 Shaw Road in St. Pauls, according to a news release from the RCSO.

Quatrell Damar Nicholson, age 24, was wanted for first degree murder, conspiracy to robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, four counts of first degree kidnapping of a person older than 16 years of age, two counts of first degree kidnapping of a person younger than 16 years of age, two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

Reports say Nicholson is awaiting trial.
