Rivers expected to recede through the upcoming week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) River levels have slightly rose in some cases over the last 36 hours due to the added rain we saw on Saturday. In most areas it just delayed the amount of time will take for those waters to recede. Flood warnings remain in effect for all areas river until further notice.

The Waccamaw river is one of those rivers who slightly rose. It is currently in major flood stage and is forecast to stay in that category through the end of the week. It is forecast to stay above flood stage for the next 7-10 days according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The Lynches River near Effingham is in minor flood stage and is expected to drop below flood stage by Monday morning.

The Black River at Kingstree is in minor flood stage and through the week as more water flows down from the upstate it will slightly rise again. Staying in minor flood stage. It will eventually fall below flood stage in the next 7-10 days.

The Great Pee Dee river is in minor flood stage and is expected to fall out of flood stage by Tuesday morning.

The Little Pee Dee river rose slightly due to the rain on Saturday but remains in minor food stage. This river is expected to to fall below flood stage on Wednesday.

The black Creek near Quinby is now below flood stage.

Sunshine is in the forecast so all of the river levels should continue to recede this week.
