Coroner identifies Conway woman killed in hit-and-run

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident early Saturday morning just after 1 a.m. The accident took place in Georgetown on Old Pee Dee Hwy at Ray Road Hemingway when a woman was walking and struck by a vehicle.

According to Georgetown Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway, the victim is identified as 52-year-old Cynthia Stone from Conway.

Stone was walking on the roadway when she was struck and died from multiple body trauma from a hit-and-run, Ridgeway said.

    Two adults were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a house fire on Main Street in Conway Tuesday. According to tweet from the Horry County Fire Department, firefighters from their department and the City of Conway Fire Department responded to the fire and brought it under control.
